Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear most often.

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about SDWC, our services, and how we work.

What does "spiritually grounded" mean?

Spiritually grounded means services are created with intention, compassion, connection, and respect for personal beliefs and experiences. SDWC welcomes individuals from many walks of life, belief systems, and spiritual paths.

Are your ceremonies religious?

Ceremonies can be spiritual, traditional, modern, simple, symbolic, or personalized depending on the needs of the individuals involved. Some clients prefer spiritual language, while others prefer something more neutral and focused on love, family, and connection.

What does "non-denominational" mean to some people?

Many people use the term "non-denominational" to describe ceremonies that are welcoming, flexible, and not limited to one specific church or religious tradition. For some, it means spiritual without strict religious structure. For others, it simply means creating a ceremony that reflects their own values, beliefs, culture, and relationship.

Does SDWC belong to one religion?

SDWC operates through a metaphysical ministry approach focused on compassion, personal growth, spiritual connection, and meaningful life moments. Services are created with respect for individual beliefs and personal comfort levels.

Do clients have to be spiritual or religious?

No. Services are personalized and created around the comfort, beliefs, and wishes of the individuals involved. Some ceremonies are deeply spiritual, while others are simple, symbolic, or focused entirely on connection and meaning.

What types of ceremonies do you offer?

SDWC offers weddings and commitment ceremonies, vow renewals, life celebrations and funerals, baby blessings and naming ceremonies, spiritual milestone ceremonies, and personalized ceremonies for major life transitions.

Can ceremonies be customized?

Absolutely. Every ceremony is created individually. Clients may include readings, vows, symbolic rituals, cultural traditions, spiritual elements, family participation, music, or personal stories.

What is a metaphysical minister?

A metaphysical minister focuses on spiritual connection, personal growth, compassion, mindfulness, and meaningful life experiences. This approach often emphasizes intention, reflection, personal understanding, and support through life transitions.

Do you offer legal weddings in Ontario?
